The famous explorer Scott of the Antarctic goes to a small Scottish village to visit “Toshie” to find out how he managed to survive in an open whaling boat in freezing conditions when all his shipmates didn’t.  Toshie reluctantly tells the story of how he tried to make his comrades concentrate on their present predicament but some of them were unable to block out the mental call of home (which we see in flashbacks).  This play has toured professionally in Scotland to great reviews.
